Research
DIEM research acitivities and projects can be classified as thematic areas, each directed by the their coded scientific unit. Besides, research activity at DIEM is often carried out in a interdisciplinary environment with continous knowledge exchange between the scientific units of the Department.
The Ph.D. Degree is the uppermost level of university higher education. The Doctorate in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences (DIMSAI) is run within DIEM and refers to the Ph.D. School in Industrial Engineering. It is organized in four distinct Projects, unifying culturally homogeneous topics:

Facilities and structures
DIEM has its own laboratories to aid the research and educational activity of each scientific unit; professional services are available for public institutions and private companies.
